It all started in Lisbon while Mariana was expecting her first child and aiming to reconnect with some of her values and life goals. She began dreaming about launching her own business - one that would produce beautiful items while also having a positive impact. And thus her daughter and RUUG were born pretty much at the same time.

At RUUG we’re thrilled to offer you a selection of beautifully crafted, upcycled rugs handmade in Portugal. Here you’ll find a variety of high-quality, one-of-a-kind rugs that are made using repurposed cotton, ensuring that no two rugs are alike. Our mission is to add a touch of style, character and warmth to any room while supporting a network of skilled, small artisans and contributing to a more sustainable world.
